HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE EDUCATION

 

A qualified & registered Homeopathic Doctor (H.D) typically has a four year undergraduate degree followed by another three year post graduate indepth and extensive training in medical sciences , classical and modern Homeopathic Medicine followed by clinical internship & externship. 

An accredited  Homeopathic Doctor program is an intensive three year post baccalaureate resident  program with clinical externship requirements. Homeopathic Doctoral curiculum consists of over 3000 in-class and at minimum 1600 clinical hours.  Students who successfully complete the program, examinations, clinical externship and written thesis, receive the Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Science  (D.H.M.S or D.H.M.H.S)

  • Botany with Herbalism
  • Clinical Externship

  • Environmental Medicine

  • Homeopathy & Homeopathic Therapeutics
  • Laboratory Analysis
  • Nutrition with Symptomatology
  • Pathology
  • Pharmacology
  • Physical Examination with Symptomatology & Diagnosis, & Emergency Medicine
  • Physiology
  • Practise Management
  • Psychology and Stress Management
  • Toxicology
  • Clinical Residency of a minimum 1,100 patient contact hours
Homeopathy was regulated up to the early 70's until which time was deregulated due to the lack of Homeopathic Physicians in Ontario. 
There is an initiative to re-regulate Homeopathic Medicine by the
Ontario Homeopathic Association (OHA)  to insure standards and protection of the public from harm. 

A recent announcement by the Ontario provincial government has provided the recommendation to re-regulate homeopathic medicine .

After the graduate has passed mandatory board exams the graduate applies to the  the Ontario Homeopathic Association (OHA) for the designation of Homeopathic Doctor ' H.D' .
