Can Homeopathic Medicine Help Me?
Homeopathy treats a variety of illnesses and is successful for patients with a range of health concerns that may not have been addressed by conventional medicine. Patients often seek homeopathic treatment in situations such as:
- The prevention against injury and infection.
- Where relatively ineffective conventional treatment exists for conditions such as migraines, fibromyalgia, and irritable bowel syndrome.
- When conventional treatment is potentially unsafe for patients including pregnant women, children, the elderly, and those who are hypersensitive.
- The promotion of well-being through nutrition and healthy living.
- Where side effects of conventional medicines may be unacceptable. For example in cases of depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, ADHD or osteoarthritis.
- When homeopathy is used to reduce the dependence on conventional medical treatment, such as with menopause, asthma and sinusitis.
If you're unsure about how homeopathy can help you, please don't hesitate to get in touch with one of our Homeopathic Doctors at Sherwoodtowne to discuss your questions and or concerns.

How long will treatment last?
The length of your treatment depends on the severity of your condition and whether it is chronic or acute. Chronic diseases that you've had for many years take longer to heal, but usually respond positively to homeopathy within a month. It is important to have regular follow-up visits about every 4 to 6 weeks to assess your reaction to the remedy and to decide whether to repeat it, or move on to a different remedy.
Acute conditions, like ear infections, colds, and urinary tract infections are often alleviated after just one homeopathic consultation. Once you've been a patient of homeopathy for some time, we may advise you how to safely self-prescribe for your acute infections and injuries.
Most people who have experienced the benefits of homeopathy realize its greater potential to heal and continually use it as their complementary health care method.
Do homeopathic remedies interfere with other medications?
There are no known or suspected contraindications or drug interactions between homeopathic and conventional medicines. The preparation of homeopathic remedies renders them non-toxic and safe for everyone, including those on prescription drugs. During homeopathic treatment you will never be asked to discontinue taking your prescription medications. As your health improves with homeopathy, you may feel the need for a smaller dosage of your current medication and should consult with your family physician to discuss this.
Always check with your medical doctor first if you would like to change anything about your prescription medications.
What is a homeopathic consultation like?
For First Aid conditions, a qualified and registered Homeopathic Doctor will assess you to insure your symptoms are not masking something more critical.
For Acute and Chronic conditions, a qualified and registered Homeopathic Doctor will take your case. Your initial consultation may be between 1 to 1.5 hours, and for the same for children. This first meeting is to conduct a thorough review of your health concerns. During a consultation, your Homeopathic Doctor will need to learn as much as possible about all aspects of your health. |
